Parcel arrived for a reasonable price

When I couldn’t use the US postal service to send Christmas presents to Australia, I checked my options through Parcel Monkey and chose the reasonably priced EMS. It wasn’t fast, and there was no tracking, but the parcel arrived about 5 weeks later. I’m happy with the value for money, just need to think ahead and post earlier next time.

Improvements needed

The service is just OK and could be better. The parcel took slightly more than a month to reach the recipient, that's one thing. Part of the time spent was being held by EMS in China for no reasons, or actually, I am guessing for the reason no one there reads English. The pro forma form has everything needed to clear the custom, but the recipient received a notice asking for description of the things inside the package. I already provided Chinese translation of the description. However, the form has quantity and units but EMS in China apparently didn't understand. I had to tell the recipient the unit is "bottle" and the quantity is "6", then the parcel had no problem to go through. Next time I will try to translate quantity and unit as well, or if Parcel Monkey would provide two versions of the custom form, one in English, one in foreign language, that may solve the problem.

Took way longer than the 7 to 16 business days delivery that it said it would take to go to Taiwan from NY. I dropped it off on December 1st. It didn't even leave Heathrow London Airport until Dec 16th. Then pretty much no more status updates until January 5th when it said it was held by Taiwan import customs. Finally delivered on Jan 6th. 3 weeks late for the birthday gifts and 2 weeks late for the Christmas gifts. Do not recommend. For US$72, I expected faster service than 35 days. Will use a different service next time. Thanks for making my gifts late.

Due to current situation limited flights are running, hence it was delayed. We will take a note and clear this kind of issues further.
